Getting There

When using public transport, use the websites external pagewww.zvv.ch or external pagewww.sbb.ch for up-to-date timetable information and ordering tickets online (there are also ticket vending machines at all train stations and most tram stops).

For using the public transport within the city, you will require a ticket that is valid for zone 110 (city of Zurich). The complete map of fare zones can be found external pagehere.

Travelling from Zurich Airport

By tram

Go to the tram stop "Zürich Flughafen, Bahnhof" (outside the airport).
Take the tram no. 10 (towards "Bahnhofplatz/HB") as far as the "ETH/Universitätsspital" stop. The tram runs every 7 to 15 minutes.
Journey time: 30 minutes

By rail

If you wish to travel from the airport to the city centre (Central Station), you are recommended to use the S-Bahn or mainline services.
The trains depart from the "Zürich Flughafen" train station (underground).
Take any train that stops at the central station: "Zürich HB", "Zürich Hauptbahnhof".
Trains depart every few minutes.
Journey time: approx. 10 minutes

Travelling from Zurich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof)

From the "Bahnhofstrasse/HB" tram stop

Tram no. 6 (towards "Zoo") as far as the "ETH/Universitätsspital" stop.
Journey time: approx. 6 minutes

From the “Bahnhofplatz/HB” stop

Tram no. 10 (towards "Zürich Flughafen, Fracht" or "Bahnhof Oerlikon") as far as the "ETH/Universitätsspital" stop
Journey time: approx. 6 minutes

Polybahn up to ETH Zürich

Walking: Exit the train station through the great hall. Cross the bridge "Bahnhofbrücke" over the river Limmat. Traverse the tram station "Central".
Tram: Take any tram that goes to "Central".
The entrance to Polybahn is next to the Starbucks.
